Cassandra is learning better control. Here she is playing with one of her "rattles." I'm not too sure about her opinion of the camera.

Ignoring the Camera...
In the pattern of child the world over, Cassandra is really good at doing something other than what you want. Here she is ignoring the camera...

How Old? Three Months!
Cassandra is three months old today. It is hard to believe she has only been in our lives for that short period of time. It is also amazing at how fast she is changing. When she was first born, she couldn't smile. Now, she smiles at us (particularly in response to a smile) and even laughs sometimes. She has also started to 'talk' to us.
Of course, she does get hungry from time to time. Here is Cassandra eating dinner. One of Janice's coworkers thinks that Mommy is trying to embarrass Cassandra by putting her in an outfit that says "Some Bunny Loves Me" and putting a bunny hat on her. What do you think?

Busy Weekend
Cassandra has had a busy weekend. She supervised Daddy as he worked in the yard, moving three bushes, weeding flower gardens, and installing hardscaping. She also helped Grandma Hodges and Mommy shop for Easter clothes. Even after all that hard work, she still has time to look good in Grandma Wendel's favorite color.

Playing Around With The Camera
I was playing around with the camera today while Cassandra was in a great mood. Using the sequential picture setting, I was taking a number of photos in a row by holding down the trigger button. Here are some of the better ones.

Dinner Guests
Cassandra has had a busy day, but she is not yet done. Dave and Laura visited tonight for dinner. This is the first time she has met them.
Knitted Sunhat
When Sara visited last weekend, she left Cassandra a present that she had knitted. Here Cassandra is modeling the hat:
Vincent's Birthday Party
Cassandra was invited to a birthday party for someone outside the family. Vincent turned one year old today and celebrated in style with a LEGO themed party.

Notice how Vincent's attention is focused on the flame? Would you believe his daddy is an engineer?

Saint Patrick's Day
Well, we couldn't decide which picture to post for St. Patrick's Day so here are our three favorites:
She is showing off her Lucky Shirt.
She may be going to Notre Dame instead of K-State.
With that smile, would you believe she hasn't had anything to drink yet?

Happy Baby Strikes Again
Cassandra has started talking to us on a regular basis. She was telling us all about her day today and was really enjoying herself. She seems to be very happy...as long as the staff deal with any hunger pains five minutes ago. She is now over 12 pounds.

Birthday Parties
Cassandra has been enjoying March. She got to celebrate Daddy's birthday three times (first with just Mommy, then with Grandma and Grandpa Hodges, and finally with Grandma and Grandpa Wendel).
Later in the month, she will get to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

First Jayhawk
This is the first time Cassandra has come face-to-face with a Jayhawk since coming home from the hospital (KU Med). She seems to be dealing with the trama fairly well.
Cassandra let Sara carry her around while Sara was given a tour of the house by the staff.

Being A Big Girl Part 2
Cassandra has been developing her motor skills. She can now hold her own bottle! This is supposed to be a major milestone on her path to being a big girl.
Unfortunately, it didn't take Cassandra long (about 60 seconds) to realize how much fun it is to throw the bottle. Even more unfortunately, she hasn't realized that throwing the bottle is the reason her dinner disappeared. Of course, when dinner does disappear, the Empress has no difficulty informing management how unhappy she is.

Grandma's Little Sweetie
Cassandra is really growing. At 10 weeks, she is now up over 11 pounds and has started outgrowing the 0-3 Month one-piece outfits. As a result, we have broken into the 3-6 Month stuff, including this outfit that labels her as "Grandma's Little Sweetie."

How Now, Brown Cow?
Cassandra has a new "toy," a swing. She enjoys sitting in it. Mommy and Daddy enjoy her sitting in it as well. She has a pronounced tendency to fall asleep.

Important Accessories
As every girl knows, it is important to accessorize. Here is Cassandra modeling her bunny hat. She really likes this hat and it likes her. (Translation: It doesn't pop off her head constantly like some of the other hats.)
She can now sit upright for about 30 minutes before she gets tired. She really likes the outdoors. She can be hushed fairly quickly by simply allowing her to look outside.
