Visit From A New Friend
Last night, Cassandra had a new friend (Gwen) and her parents over. They even brought food for Mommy and Daddy. Mommy really liked the red velvet cake that was brought for dessert. There were enough leftovers that Daddy doesn't have to make lunch this week.
Of course, this isn't the first time Cassandra has had a friend over, nor is it the first time someone has brought dinner over. However, it does mark the first time we actually remembered to take a picture. Daddy finds this annoying as the camera was actually a topic of discussion one night. You'd think that passing the thing around someone would have tried to take a picture.

The Learning Process
Cassandra is getting to the point where she can put her own hands in her mouth. She tends to suck on her entire fist rather than a thumb like some kids. She isn't coordinated enough the actually put things in her mouth. That being said, she will try and put her mouth near things she wants to taste. We have to be very careful with the nose bulb and be sure we hit her nose.
Tonight, while being held, Mommy reached across Cassandra to get a look at her right hand. Cassandra immediately decided to find out what Mommy's hand tastes like.
Then, when Mommy took her hand away, Cassandra proceeded to explain how unhappy she was and demanded to have the hand back.

Fun With A Sick Child
Well, it's official. Cassandra is sick. It doesn't look too bad now because she has gotten her appetite back, but she is congested. She is taken aback by the whole sneezing process. This morning, she sneezed and deposited some stuff under her nose. She kind of looked at me funny, and then started trying to feel her face and figure out what it was that was. Messy!
She has been sleeping in the blue chair that cousin Sharon let her borrow. This way, she is upright enough that she is not having sleeping problems. Laying flat on her back doesn't work for more than 15 minutes at a time. She is still sleeping six or so hours straight every night so we are not in too bad of shape.

Under The Weather...
Cassandra has been feeling under the weather. She did a lot of sneezing yesterday, and it looks like she has caught something. She slept most of today and didn't eat much. It look her 40 minutes to eat four ounces, something that normally takes 10 minutes. When she is really hungry, it only takes five minutes.

Tummy Time
We have been putting Cassandra on her tummy to work on strength and skills. She is able to hold up her head as shown here:
She also tries to lift herself up and her legs are constantly kicking. I'm afraid this child will be mobile before too much longer. On the bright side, Robert and Jessica have offered to let me borrow the twins to make sure the house is childproof before Cassandra is crawling.

Travels Well
Like many babies, Cassandra tends to go to sleep on car rides. Here is a picture of her going to sleep before we even get to the car.
She was much more awake later in the day. Here is a picture her after lunch. She does a good job of holding up her head when sitting upright.

Dropping By Grandma's
We dropped by Grandma's on the way home from the store to pickup some stuff. Cassandra was in a really good mood so we managed to get a picture of her smiling.
